In 1985, Fondis launched Coolmaster, now WineMaster, to preserve wine in summer, in response to the seasonal nature of heating. Did he have a visionary idea about the climate?
In the early days, WineMaster offered Norcool CU450 and CU900 machines, marketed in France by Fondis under an initial partnership with Norcool.
After ten years with Norcool, Fondis is launching its own venture with an Alsatian refrigeration specialist: the WINEC24, now the WINEC15, from WineMaster.
In 1998, Fondis took WineMaster production in-house and diversified its activities with a range dedicated to wine preservation. A strategic turning point.
A workshop and 900 m² of storage space dedicated to WineMaster were built, along with lasting international partnerships that strengthened its development abroad.
The WineMaster C18 air conditioner, now withdrawn from the market, was introduced that year. Designed and manufactured in Vieux-Thann, it is considered to be the forerunner of today’s WINEC25 model.
The arrival of the Split range, pioneered by the SP100, marked a new stage, followed in 2017 by specific models for cabinets (ARM, etc.).
